Terms of Service
Last updated 18 August 2026
These terms cover your use of SafetyWire, a service for capturing maintenance findings, collecting aircraft owner approval, and drafting maintenance record entries. By creating an account you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are able to bind that business.
1. What SafetyWire is, and what it is not
SafetyWire is a record-keeping and communication tool. It records what your people entered, shows it to the aircraft owner, records the owner’s decision, and drafts text for you to edit.
SafetyWire does not perform, approve, supervise, or certify maintenance, and does not determine airworthiness. Every judgement about an aircraft is yours. Text the system drafts — including anything produced with the help of automated assistance — is an unsigned draft until a certificated person reads it, corrects it, and signs it. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your maintenance records and for compliance with the regulations that apply to you.
We are not a party to the agreement between you and your customer, and we take no position on what work should be done or what it should cost.
2. Your account
One account is one shop at one location. Each person gets their own sign-in; sharing a login means your records cannot say who entered what, which defeats the purpose of keeping them. Keep passwords to yourself and tell us promptly if you think an account has been reached by someone who should not have it.
You are responsible for what the people you invite do in your account, including anyone you invite as a flight instructor.
3. Trial, payment, and cancellation
New accounts get a free trial. Its length is shown when you sign up and is currently fourteen days. No payment method is required to start.
When the trial ends, you can keep using the account and keep entering findings, but sending quotes to owners and exporting records need a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
You can cancel at any time from Account Settings. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period. We do not delete anything when you cancel — see section 4.
If we change what a plan costs, we will tell you before it applies to you, and it will never apply to a period you have already paid for.
4. Your records stay yours
The findings, photographs, approvals and record drafts in your account belong to you and, where they concern an owner’s aircraft, to that owner. They are not ours.
We do not delete or withhold your maintenance records because a payment lapsed. An unpaid account can still sign in and read everything it has produced. You may ask us for a copy of your data at any time, and we will provide it in a usable format.
Approval records are deliberately permanent. What an aircraft owner was shown, and what they decided, cannot be edited or removed by anyone — including us, and including you. That is the point of keeping them: an evidence trail that can be quietly rewritten is worth nothing on the day it matters.
5. What you agree not to do
- Use the service to store anything unlawful, or anyone else’s data without the right to.
- Try to reach another shop’s data, or probe the service for ways to.
- Resell or white-label the service without a written agreement with us.
- Upload manufacturer material you are not licensed to distribute.
6. Availability
We work to keep SafetyWire available and will tell you about planned interruptions where we can. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and you should not rely on it as the only copy of anything you are required to keep. Keep your own records as your regulations require.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, SafetyWire is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of business. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Ending the agreement
You may stop using SafetyWire whenever you like. We may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully, or that is being used to reach another shop’s data, and we will tell you why. Section 4 survives: suspension does not take your records away from you.
9. Changes
If we change these terms materially, we will email the address on the account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
